EXAMINATION
Periyar
University conducts regular examinations during the months
of Nov-Dec and April-May of every year. The university
follows single valuation for the UG and double valuation
system for PG and M.Phil degrees. If the difference of marks
between first and the second evaluation is more than 10
marks, the paper is referred to a third examiner and will be
final.
Results:
The result of every
semester will be published by the university through college
as well as website (www.periyar-results.org.in).
Degree Certificate:
The students who are doing
their final semester will receive the application form for
the Degree Certificate. Instructions will be given to the
students to pay an amount of Rs 550/ (including provisional
and convocation application cost) along with the final
semester examination fee.
Convocation certificates
will be issued to the students after the convocation
function, which will be usually held during the month of
June every year. Convocation certificates will be issued by
the college in the Convocation function.
They have to enclose the
following particulars along with the application form (i)
Convocation application form duly filled in (ii) Demand
Draft of Rs 550/- in favour of "The Registrar, Periyar
University, Salem", payable at Salem. (iii) Attested Copies
of all the Mark sheets.
The filled in application
form should be sent to "The Controller of Examinations",
Periyar University, Salem 636 011.

application can also be downloaded from the University’s
website – www.periyaruniversity.ac.in
Consolidated Mark
Sheet:
Consolidated Mark
statement will be issued to the students automatically if
they have already paid an amount of Rs 150.00 along with the
final semester/year examination fee. The students who have
not paid the consolidated statement of mark fee are
requested to pay an amount of Rs 150/- through demand draft
drawn in favour of "The Registrar, Periyar University,
Salem", payable at Salem. The filled in application form
should be sent to "The Controller of Examinations", Periyar
University, Salem 636 011 with the following documents – (i)
Requisition letter, (ii) Demand Draft of Rs 150/- in favour
of "The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem", payable at
Salem, (iii) Attested Copies of all the Mark sheets.
Provisional
Certificate:
Students are requested not
to pay any amount for obtaining provisional certificate if
they have already paid an amount of Rs 550/- during their
final semester year.
If a student encloses a
self addressed envelope with a stamp of Rs 40/-,then the
provisional certificate will be sent to his /her residence
by registered post.
In case of Urgency:
Provisional certificate
will be issued on the same day itself to the student if the
student submits a proof of urgency to the Controller of
Examinations.

provisional application can be downloaded from the
University’s website.
Duplicate Certificate:
Duplicate Certificates can
be obtained from the office of the controller of
examinations.
A requisition letter
addressed to the controller of examinations should be sent
with a demand draft of Rs 1000/- per certificate in favour
of "The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem", payable at
Salem.
The following documents
should be attached along with the requisition letter (i)
Requisition Letter, (ii) Demand Draft of Rs 1000/- (Per
certificate) in favour of "The Registrar, Periyar
University, Salem", payable at Salem. (iii) Non-Traceable
certificate (Original Issued by the Police Authority), (iv)
Attested Copies of the mark statements.
The certificate will be
sent to your address if a self -addressed cover of Rs 40/-
is enclosed along with the application.
Rank Certificate:
Rank Certificate will be
issued to the students after every convocation. The names of
the rank holders will be intimated to the colleges.
If the students acquire
ranks within top 10, the student can obtain the same by
paying an amount of Rs 125/- by way of demand draft in the
favour of ""The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem",
payable at Salem along with a requisition letter.
Photo Copy of Valued
Answer Scripts:
The request for Photo copy
of the valued answer script should be sent in the prescribed
application form. The Application can be had from their
college or can be downloaded from this website.
An amount of Rs 250/- per
paper in the from of a demand draft drawn in favour of The
REGISTRAR, PERIYAR UNIVERSITY, payable at Salem is to be
paid
A candidate can apply for
Photo copies of any number of his/her answer scripts.
Requisition for Photo
copies of valued answer scripts must reach the Controller of
Examinations within 10 DAYS from the date of publication of
the results.
Incomplete / defective
application will be rejected and the fees paid for Photo
copy of the answer script will neither be refunded nor
adjusted towards any fee due to the University in the future
as well as subsequent request if any, for Photo copy of this
or any other answer script.
The application duly
filled in should be submitted to the Controller of
Examinations, Periyar University, Salem - 636 01.
Convocation:
In order to award the
degrees to the students who have successfully completed
their degrees and diplomas, MCAS conducts convocation every
year. The degrees for all the PhD candidates M.phil.,
Candidates and gold medalists in various degrees are awarded
in the University Convocation. All other graduates are
awarded degrees through the colleges.
The Ph.D degree holders
M.phil., Degree holders and gold medalists will be informed
by the colleges at least 15 days before the University
convocation.
Note: Degree certificates
will not be sent to the students directly. It will be
awarded by the college in convocation.
